What’s on in North Devon this Autumn
As the hot sunny days and bright blue skies drift away, the leaves are starting to brown and Autumn is on its way, here at Hayley’s Hut we have put together a list of what is going on in and around North Devon.

Chocfest Affinity – If you like chocolate you wont want to miss this weekend festival in Bideford, its bigger than ever before celebrating all things chocolate, if your interested then pop down the road on 20th/21st October, more info @AffinityDevon.
Autumn Antiques Fair – RHS Rosemoor is our most local attraction only ten mins away from the hut, Devon County Antiques Fairs are organising another of their popular event, with a number of carefully selected stallholders from across the South West and beyond. North Devon Foodfest in Barnstaple – which takes place on Sunday 21st October is a real gastronomic treat for the taste-buds showcasing the best local food businesses from across North Devon, find out more at @northdevonfoodfest.
Halloween Festival – A spooky scary night time visit to the Big Sheep which is a local attraction offering the South Wests biggest and best Halloween Festival the week of Monday 22nd October, ride on the terror train, walk around the darkness of the cornfield, visit the horror farmhouse with many spooky surprises to be had, find out more at @the bigsheep.
Artisan Market in Barnstaple – Over 90 talented artists and makers from across the South West will be gathering on 4th November for one day in Barnstaple’s historic Pannier market to showcase their wares, find out more @devon.pop.ups.
Clovelly Herring Festival – November 18th is the time of year when this historic and very pretty village celebrates the coming of the ‘silver darlings’ otherwise known as the Herring. RHS Christmas Food & Craft Fair (also enjoying the Glow Illuminations) – Join us for a magical fair on 23rd-25th November, full of temptation and delights at RHS Garden Rosemoor. This is a special place to come and buy those unique and wonderful gifts from a mixture of craft and food stalls in the Garden Room. Christmas at the Court – visit this beautiful National Trust stately home every weekend between 24th Nov & 23rd Dec and take in the Victorian Christmas with stunning decorations in the house and a lovely festive trail outside walking amongst the crispy leaves, to visit this local estate go to @arlingtoncourtNT
Christmas Day Swim – are you adventurous, do you want to do something different on Christmas Day, if so visit Bude, only half an hour from the hut to take part in a dip in the sea to raise funds for the oldest surf life saving club, join over 600 swimmers and join in the community spirited act of madness which is turning in to a spectacular event, find out more @budeslsc
Boxing Day Barbecue – the barbecue has become synonymous with Christmas at Clovelly. Enjoy a walk on the estate in the morning then come on down to the Red lion on the quay. Enjoy our lunchtime barbecue on the quay along with live music and a glass of mulled cider, find out more @ClovellyVillage
